| A ducted system is a larger system that has an outdoor unit, a fan or blower inside the roof of the house, usually two air-intakes built into the ceiling of the house to draw air in and diffusers or vents to blow the cooled/heated air. A ducted unit heats and cools the entire house, is more expensive than a split-system and takes 2-3 days to install. | ||

These units vary in price due to the amount of ducting required, the level of zoning (electronic control of which areas are cooled) as well as the unit itself. | In some locations such as units and townhouses there isn't the room for ductwork. In these situations a muti-head split system can be installed. So one outdoor unit powers multiple header units throughout the house. These just use pipe-work through the roof cavity and so require minimal space in the roof area. | ||
